MTI Vans need your help in Skagit, Whatcom Counties
We are looking for dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants to volunteer at mobile dental clinics for farmworker communities in Skagit and Whatcom Counties. This program is a collaboration Between Sea Mar Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker Outreach Programs and Medical Teams International. Get Involved
If interested, please contact Brian Bizub at 360-588-5573 or email at
BrianBizub@seamarchc.org Why Are We Doing This?
There is a great need for oral preventive health for adults in Skagit and Whatcom Counties. Migrant and seasonal farmworkers face additional challenges accessing appropriate dental care as a re-sult of being unable to qualify for dental insurance. Lack of preventive care may lead to many chronic and long-term illnesses and diseases. These clinics are the only opportunity for many adult farmworkers in the area to re-ceive much needed dental services. What Are We Doing?
Mobile dental sites are designed to bring oral hygiene and dental care to farmworker communities. All ser-vices are limited to adults. Can CE Credits Be Earned?
The State of Washington provides one continuing education credit for every hour volunteered (up to seven credits). MTI circulates a letter documenting volunteer hours on the month of the volunteer dentist’s license renewal.
